Audition Prep for Tweens and Teens

4-Part Workshop Series

Starts Feb 15
120 Canadian dollars
Sherbrooke Street

Service Description

Feb 15th, 22nd, March 1st, 8th 10 - 11:30am At the Peterborough Theatre Guild Fee: $120 +HST These workshops are for experienced students who are passionate about theatre and feel they could be ready for the next step: auditions! They might be thinking about auditioning for local productions, or they may want to apply for post-secondary theatre programs one day. Or perhaps they have attempted auditioning before and found the experience overwhelming or intimidating? Well, if so, these workshops are a great place to start! Led by theatre artist Peyton Le Barr with decades of experience in the business, students will learn about how auditions work, what directors want to see, and proper auditioning etiquette. They will receive one-on-one coaching with Peyton and Dreda on their chosen monologues, and one-on-one coaching with Bruno on their chosen singing solos. Dreda will hold mock dance auditions to practice picking up steps quickly and dancing with confidence (even when we don't feel it!) By the end of the final workshop, students will have prepared an 'audition package'- a monologue and song- as well as a toolkit to help them navigate any audition-related eventuality! *These workshops will be for a small group- only 10 students- to ensure opportunities for personalized feedback and support.
